The state-of-the-art new facility in Mawaramandiya is the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold-certified printing facility in South Asia which was awarded by US Green Building Council in 2012.
Being Sri Lanka’s premier printing and packaging solutions provider, Aitken Spence Printing, manage to offset its carbon footprint for ten consecutive years since 2012. The Company was the first carbon-neutral printing facility operator in South Asia.
The Company has measured its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reduced them through internal changes and offset the excess externally through carbon offsetting in accordance with the related requirements of the Carbon Neutral Protocol.
In recognition of the extra efforts made by Aitken Spence Printing to be the first Green Printer in SL, Mark & Spencer awarded the Eco-Friendly Standards Certificate to the Company in 2012.
Aitken Spence Printing was the only Sri Lankan organization that was selected as a finalist for ‘Sustainable Vendor Award 2014’ at the Fonterra Vendor Awards & International Conference which was held in New Zealand in the year 2014.
Aitken Spence Printing is the only Sri Lankan company to have received the prestigious GSK 2016 environmental sustainability award in the small and medium enterprise category. The award aims to recognize vendors who excel in the area of sustainability from an international pool of suppliers who work with GSK.
Aitken Spence Printing & Packaging (Pvt) Ltd. was recognized as the industry’s best by winning the Gold Award in the Printing and Related services sector category at the National Business Excellence Awards organized by the National Chamber of Sri Lanka in 2014, 2016, and 2017.
In 2016, Aitken Spence Printing was crowned as the Master Printer in Sri Lanka for 2014 – 2016 by winning 4 Excellence, 3 Distinction, and 3 Merit Awards at the “Collate 2014” printing award ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka Association of Printers.
At the most recent award ceremony, “Sri Lanka Print 2023”, Aitken Spence Printing won 01 Gold and 01 Bronze Awards.
Aitken Spence Printing was awarded the Platinum Trophy and was named the overall winner at the Lanka Star Awards in 2022 for winning the most awards which include 04 Gold and 02 Silver awards in the Corporate categories.
At the most recent award ceremony, “Lanka Star 2023”, Aitken Spence Printing won 02 Gold, 05 Silver, and 01 Bronze awards.
Aitken Spence Printing and Packaging (Pvt) Ltd., has strongly established its point of difference as ‘The Green Printer’ with the certification for the integrated management system (IMS) that encompasses ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
Due to the IMS, the Company spends less time preparing for audits and responding to their findings, and significantly reducing the overall investment of time and money.
The recent recertification was done by SGS, and all three systems’ certificates are valid until October 2026.
Aitken Spence Printing complies with Sedex Member Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) compliances since 2016. The last certification was done in November 2023.
Being a Green Printer in Sri Lanka, Aitken Spence Printing obtained the ISO 14064-1 certification in August 2017.
Aitken Spence Printing has been possessing the FSC ™ (C822399CUCOC-01.2022) chain of custody certification since August 2017. The most recent rectification was done in October 2024.
